Advice needed CBR250R not starting

My brother's old 2012 Honda CBR250R hasn't been used in about a year. The battery stayed charged, so the engine turns over, but it won't start. We filled the gas tank, but the fuel gauge still says it's empty. Could it be a sensor or the fuel pump? Not sure what to look at next. Thanks!

Make sure to check the fuel pump and clean the fuel injectors if it's been sitting for a while. If the fuel gauge is empty, it might indicate problems with the pump or sender. Don't forget to also take a look at the spark plugs and air filter.

I think these are two separate problems you'll need to fix. The fuel gauge problem is probably the float which I'm guessing it's stuck. For the not starting, like @moddedfireblade1022 mentioned, pump, injectors, spark plugs could be the problem. A less common, but a possibility is some elecitrcal problem mainly because the bike has been sitting for too long. Maybe moisture related.
