Got an '08 CBR600RR with just under 30K miles and there's been a bit of smoke on cold starts lately nothing crazy, but definitely more than usual, it runs fine otherwise and there's no power drop and it even got me surprised, but common knowledge and a lil bit of research seems to all be veering towards the valve guide seals but I dont want my know it all head to be the cause of something greater in case I'm not right or in my attempt to solve the issue, do the wrong thing
So has anyone here dealt with something like this? did you wait it out or what because that's really what I feel like doing right now coz I feel its not that bad and I'm just being quite paranoid bringing it here
Thoughts please, TIA

Okay, so the smoke is just on a cold start and then it goes back to normal? It doesn't smoke under acceleration? If so, then it's the valve guide seals and you can run it like that for a while, but monitor the oil consumption. If it starts smoking more and consuming oil more, then it's time to intervene.

What color is the smoke you're seeing on cold starts, bluish, white, or more grayish?
