Hard start after sitting

I've run into something odd with my '06 CBR600RR. If I shut it down and try to restart right away, it fires up no problem. But if I let it sit for a minute or two, I end up having to crack the throttle a bit just to get i to fire. Once it's running, everything feels normal so it's just that in between window that's confusing me

it sounds like an issue with the Idle Air Control valve. When you shut the bike off hot, the ECU expects the IAC to manage the air flow for a smooth hot start.
If the valve is gummed up or sticky, it might not open properly after a minute or two of sitting.
By cracking the throttle, you're manually letting in the air that the IAC valve should be providing, which is why it fires right up
